This magnificent private collection joins some of the collections of His Royal Highness Kassim bin Faisal, father of Prince Faisal bin Qasim Al Thani . Collected since 1960 , it has now grown in size and splendor, and the collection is beautifully displayed in the museum for the public to enjoy. Today the museum covers an area of more than 17,000 square meters and houses more than 15,000 exhibits , including ancient Islamic manuscripts, major archaeological finds, military industry, textiles, carpets, embroidery and antique furniture. There is a large collection of historic cars, including 19th century steam cars. To show Qatar’s respect for cultural diversity, the museum’s galleries will also display religious objects from other faiths.
